Role Overview:

We are seeking a passionate Test Engineer to become the first QA hire in our engineering team. This is a unique opportunity to own and define how TeamFeePay approaches quality assurance. You'll be responsible for automating web application testing using Ruby, MiniTest, and Capybara, and integrating these tests within our development process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define Acceptance Criteria: Define and maintain acceptance test criteria to ensure the business goals and quality of features developed are met
  • Develop and Enhance Automated Tests: Create and maintain automated software tests using MiniTest, Capybara, and other tools to evaluate functionality, performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Design Test Frameworks: Contribute to the design and development of our application test framework.
  • Define QA Strategies: Help shape the test strategy and make decisions about processes, tools, and platforms required for the QA process.
  • Maintain Quality Standards: Uphold and improve quality standards within the development team.
  • Collaborate with Developers: Work closely with the development team to identify and fix issues, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Balance Automation and Manual Testing: While the focus is on automation, some manual testing will be required to ensure comprehensive coverage.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in software quality assurance and automation testing.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficient in writing automated test scripts using Ruby or a similar language.
    • Hands-on experience with test automation using MiniTest and Capybara.
    • Familiarity with full-stack application testing.
    • Experience in non-functional testing.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Methodologies: Solid understanding of development and testing methodologies.
  • Collaboration: Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to work collaboratively with application design and development teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to contribute to a growing team and adapt to new challenges.
